Well, there's more to it than that. Children go a-missin' in a mining town in West Virginia. There's a legend that an angel was once seen in the mountain town. And a boy named Joe Gardner grows up, having witnessed something terrifying and beautiful as a child -- and has come home as his mother is dying, to find out the source of his nightmare.

A lot of readers seem to have loved this one -- there's a bit of a twist on a vampire story within it, although if you're looking for pretty boys in capes, they won't be here. Look instead for the blood-engorged and the freaky.
