Writing As Andrew Harper
Dear Reader,
Some years
back, I wrote a few novels regarding a fictional hospital for criminal
justice under my pseudonym, Andrew Harper. I based this hospital and its
psychiatrists and psych techs and criminally insane patients on a few actual hospitals -- with a ton of research done on
these institutions. I just had fun with this series.
I wanted to
write light, fast reads that packed a punch or three. The first of these,
Bad
Karma, was made into a movie with Patsy Kensit that was not quite up to snuff
(but I still had fun watching it and throwing popcorn at the screen. And
Kensit was excellent, even if the rest of the movie was pretty awful.)
If you like:
a) Serial killer novels
b)
Psychological thrillers and
c) Books that
might not take more than one night to read cover-to-cover
-- you just
might enjoy these books.
Bad Karma is
currently out of print, but Red Angel and Night Cage are both available for
ordering.
You don't have to have read any of them to read any of the others,
although I would suggest you read Red Angel before you read Night
Cage.
Best,
Douglas Clegg

NIGHT CAGE
by ANDREW HARPER
Beneath the Darden State Hospital for Criminal Justice, there is an older
asylum full of "night cages" -- the operating rooms and cells of the late 19th
century.
When "Bloody Mary" Chilmark decides to help her son escape from the
hospital-prison, she decides to take hostages down into these vaults...and
play her games with them.
